Personnel Grounding
Static charges that are developed within a person’s body through multiple contacts and separations between the bottom sole of his shoes and a floor are harmful to ESDS items. ESD wrist straps, heel straps or ESD shoes are commonly used to drain or remove these charges from the person’s body.Â
- ESD wrist strap An ESD wrist strap system consists of a wrist strap band and a cord. There is always a 1M-ohm resistor imbedded inside the cord to protect human from harmful Electric shock. The ESD wrist strap is normally worn directly in contact with the person’s skin to ensure any static charges within the person’s body is drained away.Â
- ESD heel strap An ESD heel strap system consists of a heel strap band and a conductive strap. For personnel safety reason, a 1M-ohm resistor is always imbedded at a point where the strap is joined to the heel strap band.  A person must wear ESD heel straps on both feet to ensure complete static charges drainage.Â
- ESD shoes  ESD shoes are commonly used together with an ESD flooring. Any static charges that are built up within a person body’s will be drained through the ESD flooring.    Â
